Leadership Excellence Series

The Leadership Excellence Series is a set of presentations addressing the subject of leadership. Members will learn about the skills they will need to be successful leaders inside and outside of Toastmasters. Presentations in the Leadership Excellence Series may be offered by any club member and require 10 to 15 minutes to present. Included in the program is an outline of the module and a PowerPoint presentation.

Note that the outline is not a script and should not be read word-for-word. Instead, use the document as a guide for presenting the material in your own words and with your own narrative style.

In Pathways Level 5, members will be required to give one presentation from the Leadership Excellence Series.The table below provides information about each of the presentations.

Presentations	Description
Service and Leadership	Discusses how leaders serve others by offering their knowledge and skills to help others achieve a goal.
The Leader as a Coach	Discusses how leaders can help their teams improve performance by applying specific principles and techniques.
Developing a Mission	Discusses how successful leaders create and cultivate an organizational mission that defines the organization and guides its members and/or employees to attain their goals and objectives.
Motivating People	Discusses how to create and maintain an environment in which team members will become motivated.
Building a Team	Discusses how to select and work with a team.
Delegate to Empower	Discusses how to effectively assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
Resolving Conflict	Discusses why conflict occurs and what a leader can do to resolve it.
Visionary Leader	Discusses how leaders create and communicate a vision for their organization to help it be successful.
Values and Leadership	Discusses values and the need to ensure the alignment of a team’s and leader’s values in order to achieve a goal.
Goal Setting and Planning	Discusses the processes leaders use to set goals and develop plans to achieve those goals.
Giving Effective Feedback	Discusses how to provide effective performance feedback to team members, and how to recognize positive performers.
