Discover Pathways: Your Toastmasters Learning Experience

Pathways is Toastmasters International’s innovative and dynamic education program designed to help you build real-world skills while progressing at your own pace. Whether you are looking to enhance your public speaking, leadership, or interpersonal communication abilities, Pathways offers a customized learning journey tailored to your personal and professional goals.

There are six possible paths for learning:

• Dynamic Leadership: Build skills as strategic leader
• Engaging Humor: Build skills as humorous and engaging speaker
• Motivation Strategies: Build motivational leadership and communication skills
• Persuasive Influence: Build skills to lead in complex situations
• Presentation Mastery: Build public speaking skills
• Visionary Communication: Build innovative communication and leadership skills

Note: To assist you in selecting your Path, an overview of each is provided on the Paths and Projects page.

These path’s areas of learning are based on the core competencies in the program which are

• Public speaking
• Interpersonal communication
• Leading and managing
• Leading strategically
• and building confidence

Pathways Levels
Individual learning paths will have five levels, each increasing in complexity. Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) is the highest achievement and requires completion of two learning paths. The levels are as follows:

Level 1	Master the Fundamentals Develop or enhance your understanding of the fundamentals needed to be a successful public speaker and evaluator. You’ll focus on speech writing and basic speech delivery, as well as receiving, applying, and delivering feedback.
Level 2	Learning Your Style Develop an understanding of your personal styles and preferences. You’ll have the opportunity to identify your leadership or communication styles and preferences. You will also be introduced to the basic structure of the Pathways Mentor Program.
Level 3	Increasing Knowledge Begin increasing your knowledge of skills specific to your path. You’ll complete one required project and at least two elective projects that address your goals and interests through a wide variety of topics.
Level 4	Building Skills Build the skills you need to succeed on your path. You’ll have the opportunity to explore new challenges and begin applying what you have learned. You’ll complete one required project and at least one elective project.
Level 5	Demonstrating Expertise In this final level, demonstrate your expertise in the skills you have learned. You’ll have the opportunity to apply what you have learned at all levels to accomplish larger projects. You’ll complete one required project, at least one elective project and the “Reflect on Your Path” project to bring closure to your path.

The Pathways Paths and Projects Catalog created by a former District 57 Pathways guide, has an in-depth guide to the six current Paths, plus the five legacy Paths and the DTM project. With six specialized paths to choose from, you’ll gain practical skills through a combination of engaging projects, hands-on practice, and valuable feedback from fellow members. Each path is designed to challenge you, broaden your horizons, and empower you to succeed both in Toastmasters and beyond.

Are you looking for an introductory public speaking course? Do you need immediate help to prepare for an upcoming speech or presentation? Look no further than the Toastmasters Public Speaking Fast Track!

Fast Track is a fun and interactive way to learn skills from Toastmasters International. Users can start with an optional self-assessment, watch three instructional videos, record themselves giving a speech, and then re-take the assessment to track their growth. The first course focuses on learning public speaking skills and we hope to expand to cover other subjects.

Once you’ve purchased Fast Track, you can access the course on your computer, phone, tablet, or TV. Complete the course at your own pace.
