The District Executive Council Meeting (DECM) is a vital monthly gathering where district officers and members of district committees coordinate strategy, review progress, and manage administrative business for all clubs, areas, and divisions in the district.
This meeting serves as a platform not only for addressing various district business matters but also for providing valuable leadership training that equips members with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their respective roles. The discussions and decisions made during these meetings are crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and success of the district as a whole.
The District Executive Committee includes the District Director, Program Quality Director, Club Growth Director, District Public Relations Manager, District Administration Manager, District Finance Manager, Division Directors, Area Directors, and Immediate Past District Director. Apart from these leadership roles, only individuals who are invited by the District Director and have specific business before the committee may attend District Executive Committee meetings.
What Happens at a DEC Meeting?
- Strategic Planning: Leaders discuss goals, share club success strategies, and review the district’s performance.
- Leadership Training: DEC meetings provide specific training and operational guidance for area and division directors.
- Making Recommendations: The committee prepares items—such as the district budget, success plans, and club alignments—to present and recommend to the wider District Council.
